It is awful when you get a ticket, the dread of having to admit you were speeding to your loved ones (esp. husbands) and then coming up with the money for the ticket. These are civil servants. They should be trying to help you instead of playing some kind of secret game show at your expense (what's behind door #1 - could be traffic court, recycling duty or a goat). I'm really sorry it all happened. I feel for you (and not in the Chaka Khan way). Let me know if you need to talk. Word. Dude. I think one of the many morals of this story (and one I can totally speak for out of personal experience) is that there is a SEVERE lack of communication between police officers and court clerks. I've been pulled over before and gotten the old "Nah, it's no big deal. Just show them your insurance card at the window and they'll drop this whole thing." Then I went to do just that and they looked at me like I GOT MY TICKET FOR BEING FROM MARS. I don't understand it one bit. I'm sorry about your day. :( Oh my. Bless your heart.
