Don’t sing Happy Birthday to Me.
My oldest son Andrew will be turning 4 in a couple of weeks. He’s such a sweet boy. He usually just plays and doesn’t care much about the details. I always try to ask him what he wants because usually he just wants whatever his older sister tells him he should want. I asked him what kind of birthday cake he wanted for his party, and I knew the answer, “THOMAS!”
Then, he said something I wasn’t expecting.”Don’t sing Happy Birthday to me.” When I asked him why, he said he “didn’t like it.” Ben asked him if we could tell him happy birthday, and he said, “NO”
I do remember that he didn’t like it when we sang to him last year. I just didn’t think he still thought about how he didn’t like it. He’s such a mystery, that boy!
