Don’t sing Happy Birthday to Me.

by The Boss

My oldest son Andrew will be turning 4 in a couple of weeks.  He’s such a sweet boy. He usually just plays and doesn’t care much about the details. I always try to ask him what he wants because usually he just wants whatever his older sister tells him he should want. I asked him what kind of birthday cake he wanted for his party, and I knew the answer, “THOMAS!”

Then, he said something I wasn’t expecting.”Don’t sing Happy Birthday to me.” When I asked him why, he said he “didn’t like it.” Ben asked him if we could tell him happy birthday, and he said, “NO”

I do remember that he didn’t like it when we sang to him last year. I just didn’t think he still thought about how he didn’t like it. He’s such a mystery, that boy!

You Need a Niche

by The Boss

I’ve been doing research about blogging, and the first thing everyone says is you need a niche. Hmmmm…I don’t have one of those. So then I decided to sit down and come up with an amazing niche that would lead people to my blog and the masses would be amazed…and when that didn’t work, I asked my husband what he thought…AND when that didn’t work I considered that maybe, just maybe I shouldn’t be blogging….or at least I shouldn’t be blogging with great expectations of any kind. Expectations like readers, for example.

Apparently, without a niche you’re kind of all over the place. I guess I would be considered all over the place. I have a post on here with a picture of a quilt top I made, like 7 years ago. I never even finished the quilt. Who really cares about that? I don’t even care, and it’s mine. Then there’s my “memoirs” category, which is really just another name for “uncategorized”.

Where am I gonna get a niche?

Remember the Milk?

by The Boss

Do you use this at all? I tried it a long time ago but never really used it because I couldn’t remember to Remember the Milk.  You may already know this, I don’t claim to be on the up and up about what’s new, but they have an application for gmail, and some other things like twitter. Your to do list will display to the right of your emails in gmail. I always have gmail up, so maybe it will work better for me this time.

Drama Dog

by The Boss

I was going through some clothes the other night. When I got them all out of the black garbage bag they were in, I just threw the bag on the floor.

Later on, I saw Flash cuddled up with one of the babies blankets. He is always laying on things he shouldn’t be. So I kind of scolded him, saying “you have your own blanket.” I didn’t make him get off of it or anything, I just continued getting the kids ready for bed. When I did sit down to rest, Flash cowers over to the garbage bag that was laying in the floor, lays down on it, and looks at me with the saddest eyes i’ve ever seen.

He’s so dramatic!

I just don’t get it

by The Boss

I hate politics. Mostly because I am very nieve and have a tendency to believe everything I hear. Because I know this about myself, if I find myself believing anything a politician says, the red flags go up and I immediately know that they must be lieing.

I don’t think I know or understand enough about politics to really go into it on this blog. Also, I really don’t claim to be either a Democrat or a Republican, but I’ll say this.  Both Presidential candidates are making lots of promises and both are using the “CHANGE” word a lot. I really have a hard time believing that anybody will really do anything they say they’re going to. I really have a hard time believing that anything will ever be any better than it already is. I don’t think it will take long for America to grow tired of the next president, no matter who he is. It never does.

I remain undecided.

(geez, and obviously really pessimistic)
