Yesterday, I had my first appointment with my midwife. All is well.

I walked into the house when I got home and Aidan’s face went from smiling to blank.

I said “what’s wrong?”

She said ” Where’s the baby?!”

I said “In my belly.”

She said to me in a rather scolding tone “Well, what did you do at the doctor?”

She remained disappointed for a while. I gave her a taco and she perked right up.
